Marche-en-Famenne is a 20-minute drive from Durbuy. We’ve long known it as the location of the largest collection of big-surface shops in the area, but the city certainly has more to offer! The old town – left of the main road when coming from Durbuy – is worth a half-day visit.

In addition to the historic centre, there are a few typical sights. For example, you can visit craft brewery Atrium (by appointment and for groups of 10 or more) or the local Famenne Art Museum – the collection isn’t the most special, but the building itself is worth a visit.

Very special is the museum of the Ardennes hunters on the military grounds of the Camp Roi Albert, the station of the motorized brigade in the Ardennes. The museum can only be visited by appointment but comes with a personal welcome by a passionate former soldier.

The restaurant scene in Marche-en-Famenne is mainly concentrated around the Place aux Foires. We found l’Effet Boeuf and L’ineviTable worthwhile. For a drink, Manda Bar is definitely recommended, but there are more tipical bars to be found on the square.
