The Ourthe is the ideal place for kayaking. From the beginning of April to the end of October you can rent a kayak at Adventure Valley, within walking distance of Villa Louise and Villa des Roches. There are different distances and departures, from 8 to 23 kilometers, and there is a shuttle bus that will take you back to the starting point.
You don’t have to be an experienced kayaker to experience an amusing afternoon. We were lucky in an accident: the water was low, so we regularly got stuck, but it was a warm, sun-drenched day, so we enjoyed prying our kayak loose with bare feet in the Ourthe (and meanwhile splashing our fellow kayakers again with the paddle :)).
You do the sailing completely at your own pace and pass a lot of beautiful parts. Sometimes you are completely alone among the greenery, the birds and the fish, and a few moments later you sail past Villa Louise, Villa des Roches and the castle of Durbuy, which is even more impressive from so low on the water.
