Christmas market in Durbuy: that’s always a surprise. The cozy Christmas market on the Place aux Foires and in the small streets of Durbuy opens around the end of November and attracts hundreds of Christmas lovers every year. And rightly so, because the Durbuy Christmas market is one of the most beautiful in the Ardennes.
Many stalls with artisanal products such as honey, jam and saucisson, stands where you can buy Christmas presents such as Christmas stockings, thick warm sweaters and jewelry, and of course there are also many food stalls. Something for everyone: potato with foie gras, tartiflette, raclette, candied nuts, it’s hard to choose! And to wash it all down, there’s the super-stylish champagne bar of Brasserie Fred (women’s favourite) or the Chalet Chouffe (men’s favourite).
All traders put their best foot forward during the Christmas market. The Sanglier des Ardennes has a very nice winter bar with wooden chairs and sheepskins, where you can eat oysters and drink champagne. Really the ideal place to watch the passing people under the heaters. Even the pirate of the Tortuga Bar takes it up a notch and has an extra rum stand in the cozy streets of Durbuy. And do you still want to watch the calories? Then skate them off on the ice skating rink in the middle of the square!
Would you like to visit the Christmas market yourself? Then be sure to keep an eye on the calendar on the website of the Tourism Department of Durbuy. There you will always find the latest information about when the Christmas market is open. Usually it is from the end of November to the beginning of January, but you never know. You will also find the opening hours of the skating rink on it.
